SSI Healthcare Invoice Audits are Moving from Antalya to Kocaeli
At a meeting hosted by the Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce, it was announced that SSI invoice audits, which were being conducted in Antalya due to staff shortages, will be moved back to Kocaeli.
During the Health Sector Consultation Meeting hosted by the Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce, a critical announcement was made regarding the SSI invoice audit processes that private healthcare institutions have been raising for a long time. It was announced that the invoice audit procedures, which were carried out in Antalya due to insufficient personnel, are aimed to be moved back to Kocaeli along with the strengthening of the physician staff in Kocaeli.
Participants and Purpose of the Meeting
The Health Sector Consultation Meeting, hosted by the Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce, was attended by KOTO Assembly President Hüseyin Gezer, Kocaeli Provincial Health Director Op. Dr. Yüksel Pehlevan, SSI Kocaeli Provincial Director Mehmet Salih Aydın, and numerous representatives of healthcare institutions. During the meeting, the problems experienced by the private healthcare sector in reimbursement and deduction processes were discussed.
Physician Staff is Being Strengthened
SSI Kocaeli Provincial Director Mehmet Salih Aydın stated that the number of physicians, which was previously 5, dropped to 4 due to the retirement of one physician, but through ongoing efforts, this number has been increased to 12. Noting that they aim to reach a physician count of 18-20, Aydın stated that once the staff is completed, the audits will return to Kocaeli.
Physical Therapy and Report Issues
Problems experienced in physical therapy and rehabilitation invoices were discussed in detail at the meeting. Sector representatives voiced difficulties encountered regarding issues such as inadequate report fields in the MEDULA system and retroactive deductions applied to invoices from previous years.
Intensive Care and Technical Deductions
The sheet file application requested in intensive care services, the interest burdens arising from delayed audits of invoices from previous years, and issues originating from UTS/UBB codes were discussed. Representatives requested that technical deficiencies not be treated directly as a reason for deductions.
Inter-Institutional Joint Work
Kocaeli Provincial Health Director Op. Dr. Yüksel Pehlevan emphasized that their goal is not to put healthcare providers in a difficult situation, but rather to target a healthy operation within the framework of legislation. It was stated that problems arising from manual operations will decrease with increased digitalization.
Future Period Planning
KOTO Assembly President Hüseyin Gezer noted that the issues raised at the meeting will be reported and that matters requiring central regulation for their resolution will be forwarded to the relevant authorities. Additionally, training and information meetings are planned to be held with the newly assigned physicians.
