Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced that they continue to provide services across Turkey with 31,000 family physicians and 8,401 Family Health Centers.
In a statement on the occasion of Public Health Week, Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu provided information about the preventive health services carried out by family physicians and health centers across the country.
Public Health Week Events
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu made a post on his social media account on the occasion of Public Health Week. He announced that they will be in the field in 81 provinces for 7 days with 7 different themes.
Preventive Health Services
It was emphasized that preventive health services have been advanced further under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Services are provided at the closest points to citizens through 8,401 Family Health Centers and 31,000 family physicians.
Healthy Life Centers
Versatile support is provided in 17 different areas, from nutrition to physical activity, at 357 Healthy Life Centers across the country. Citizens have been accompanied on their healthy living journey with 26 million applications in the last 2 years.
Mother and Baby Health Studies
Mothers' processes are guided by 62,000 midwives, 1,774 pregnancy schools, and the Maternity Journey mobile application, which has 260,000 active users.
Screenings and Early Diagnosis
A proactive process was carried out with early diagnosis and preventive steps, resulting in 158 million chronic disease screenings. Diseases were detected at an early stage in 14.1 million citizens.
Cancer and Smoking Screenings
While 16.1 million free cancer screenings were conducted, the disease was identified at an early stage in 36,000 people and treatment processes were initiated. The number of Smoking Cessation Outpatient Clinics was increased by 260 percent to 1,678.
