Total eight-month healthcare expenditures of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey announced from the budget
The total treatment and medication expenses incurred by members of parliament and their relatives in the first eight months of the year have been reflected in official data.
According to data shared by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the total healthcare expenses of members of parliament serving in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and their relatives exceeded 167 million liras in the January-August period.
Total Expenditure for the January and August Period
According to information prepared based on data from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the healthcare expenditures of a total of 592 members of parliament serving in the TBMM and their relatives reached a significant magnitude in the first eight months of the year.
Treatment and Medical Supplies Expenses
It was recorded in official records that a total of 165 million 252 thousand liras was spent from the budget for treatment and medical supplies expenses within the parliamentary body during the first eight-month period of the year.
Medication Expenses of Members of Parliament
It was determined that the total amount paid from the public budget for the medication expenses of members of parliament during the same period reached 2 million 562 thousand liras.
Distribution of Treatments by Months
For treatment and medical supplies, 13 million 939 thousand liras were spent in January, 19 million 925 thousand liras in February, 15 million 424 thousand liras in March, and 25 million 580 thousand liras in April.
Payments of 15 million 222 thousand liras in May, 30 million 16 thousand liras in June, 21 million 220 thousand liras in July, and 23 million 926 thousand liras in August were made.
Summer Increase in Medication Expenses
When medication expenses were examined on a monthly basis, it was observed that there was a notable rise particularly during the summer period, and this item peaked in the months of July and August.
Daily and Hourly Average Cost
When the eight-month total healthcare expenditure was spread across the entire period, it was calculated that the daily average expenditure corresponded to approximately 691 thousand liras and the hourly average expenditure to approximately 28 thousand 800 liras.
