UK Allocates £88 Million in Support for Gaza and the West Bank
The UK Foreign Office has allocated a total of £88 million in funding to support critical health and sanitation infrastructure projects in Gaza and the West Bank.
The UK government has launched a new financial aid package totaling £88 million aimed at improving health, clean water, and hygiene services in the Gaza and West Bank regions.
Purpose of the Aid Package
According to official statements from the UK Foreign Office, comprehensive financial resources have been allocated to meet urgent needs in Gaza and the West Bank. This budget will be used to improve basic living conditions in the region.
Efforts in Health and Rehabilitation
A significant portion of the allocated funds will be directed toward medical services. In this context, the goal is to provide medical counseling to 900,000 people and special prosthetics and rehabilitation facilities for 1,000 children with explosive injuries.
Water and Waste Infrastructure Projects
To improve clean water and hygiene conditions, wastewater will be treated for 900,000 people. In addition, tanker operations that regularly deliver clean water to 150,000 people will be financed with this budget.
Psychosocial Support Services
Steps are being taken to protect the mental health of the local population following the difficult processes they have experienced. Within this framework, it is planned to provide direct psychosocial and mental health support to 21,000 people.
Balance Sheet of Past Assistance
Details of the UK's ongoing aid to Palestine since October 2023 were also shared. It was reported that 1.4 million people benefited from food aid during this period, while water and sanitation services reached 830,000 people.

Meeting with his Qatari and Jordanian counterparts during the United Nations General Assembly meetings, Minister Ed Miliband emphasized that uninterrupted humanitarian aid access to Gaza is of vital importance.
