Underwater action against addiction by healthcare workers in İzmir
Within the framework of Public Health Week, healthcare personnel dived off the coast of Karaburun and unfurled a banner against substance, alcohol, and tobacco addiction.
Coming together for the September 3-9 Public Health Week events in İzmir, healthcare workers performed a dive in the sea in Karaburun to draw attention to the problem of addiction, giving a message by opening a banner underwater.
Meaningful Banner Underwater
As part of the event held in the Karaburun district, healthcare workers dived into the depths of the sea.
In the banner opened underwater, an emphasis on freedom against the use of substance, alcohol, and tobacco was made, calling to say no.
Addiction is a Treatable Process
İzmir Provincial Health Director Ayhan Kul stated that addiction is by no means a destiny and is a completely treatable process.
It was expressed that the comprehensive works carried out by the Ministry of Health in this field are being maintained with determination.

To indicate that citizens are not alone in this process, the ALO 171 smoking cessation line and ALO 191 substance abuse combat line are actively providing service.
Completely free consultancy services are offered through experts at family health centers and healthy life centers.
Polyclinic and Counseling Data
Examination and treatment services were provided to tens of thousands of patients over an eight-month period in the 43 smoking cessation polyclinics operating across the city.
Additionally, psychosocial support is provided to citizens and their families at the nine addiction counseling centers within healthy life centers.
