Search operations for missing persons from the passenger ship that sank in the TRNC are being intensified with the participation of a new search-and-rescue vessel sent from Turkey.
A new, well-equipped vessel dispatched from Turkey has joined the search-and-rescue efforts launched to find 14 missing individuals from the passenger ship Filo Jet, which sank off the coast of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

A critical phase has been reached in the search-and-rescue efforts initiated after the passenger ship named Filo Jet, carrying 267 passengers and crew, sank in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
New Vessel from Turkey Arrives in the Region
It was reported that a new search-and-rescue vessel departing from Turkey has reached the site of the wreckage and commenced operations utilizing its technical capabilities.
Searching the Wreckage at a Depth of 554 Meters
Thanks to the technical capabilities of the new vessel, the operation aims to reach the interior sections of the wreckage located 554 meters beneath the sea and access the missing persons.
The Accident During the Voyage
Operating on a route between Kyrenia and Mersin Taşucu, the ship had started taking on water shortly after departing from Kyrenia on August 30 and sank while attempting to return to the port.
Rescued Passengers and Official Statement
It was stated that 239 out of the 267 people on board were rescued, and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel noted that all resources are being mobilized to reach the 14 missing individuals.
