Established to offer alternative feed options to the livestock sector in Karaman, the facility has achieved a first in Turkey with the production of fermented corn and barley in small packaging.

Facility Visit and Inspections

Hatice Bulut, the Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Karaman, together with Deputy Provincial Director Ümit Çağlıyan, visited the Selek Tarım ve Hayvancılık Wetfeed Enterprise.

During the visit, the operations carried out at the facility regarding the packaging of fermented corn and barley in small packages were examined in detail.

Information on the Production Process

Hatice Bulut and the accompanying delegation received comprehensive information from business owner Harun Selek about the production and packaging stages.

During the discussions, the marketing process of these innovative products currently in production was also evaluated.

Benefits Provided by Fermentation

In a statement made by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, it was noted that the applied fermentation method increases feed digestibility and nutrient absorption.

Additionally, it was stated that this method aims to introduce beneficial bacteria to the metabolism of animals.

Practical Alternative for Producers

By preparing fermented corn and barley in small packages at the facility, it is aimed to offer a more practical usage opportunity for livestock producers.

Officials pointed out that this new production model will create an important and alternative feed option for producers in the region.
