Within the scope of the investigation launched over luxury wedding footage from Van, Çağla Öz Tançalan, the wife of Mehmet Fatih Tançalan who was arrested for 'laundering assets derived from crime', has been detained in Istanbul.
Wedding Footage Sparked the Investigation
The footage from the wedding ceremony held on Sunday in Van resonated widely across various media outlets and prompted authorities to take action.
Following the footage, an official investigation was launched by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and inquiries into the incident were deepened.
Mehmet Fatih Tançalan Arrested
Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, who was detained within the scope of the investigation and is known on social media as 'Vanlı Kara Haydar', was referred to the courthouse.
The suspect was arrested by the presiding duty criminal judgeship on charges of 'laundering assets derived from crime' and sent to prison.
Çağla Öz Tançalan Apprehended in Istanbul
Social media influencer Çağla Öz Tançalan, for whom a detention warrant had been issued, was detained in Istanbul as a result of ongoing operations.
Following the completion of her legal procedures in Istanbul, the suspect is planned to be brought to Van, where the investigation is being conducted.
New Detentions Within the Scope of the Investigation
N.O., the mother of Çağla Öz Tançalan whose name was mentioned in the MASAK report, had previously been apprehended by police forces in Istanbul.
Additionally, M.S.T., a relative of Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, was also detained yesterday in an operation carried out in the Muradiye district of Van.
