10 Suspects Referred to Courthouse in Operation Against Social Media Influencers

Law enforcement agencies took action against suspects alleged to have generated illicit income through fights and insulting content on live streams.

In simultaneous operations targeting social media influencers across 10 provinces, centered in Istanbul, 10 suspects determined to have generated income through inappropriate broadcasts on digital platforms were captured.

Virtual Patrol and Review Process

A comprehensive review was launched by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch and Cyber Crimes Branch regarding posts on social media platforms.

As a result of the conducted virtual tracking and patrol activities, it was determined that certain accounts violated the rules.

Inappropriate Broadcasts and Generating Income

During the reviews, it was determined that certain users broadcasted images containing fights, threats, insults, tension, and victimhood during their live streams.

It was detected that the suspects produced content contrary to the family structure and generated digital income through these broadcasts.

Simultaneous Raids in Ten Provinces

The button was pressed within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Simultaneous operations were organized centered in Istanbul, alongside Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Kocaeli, Muğla, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, and Elazığ.

Detained Suspects

As a result of the organized raids, Sinan Kaya, Cansum Kaya, Ferhat Billor, and Çağlayan Yıldırım were captured.

Additionally, Onur Sermik, Elif Akdemir, Onur Can Güzel, Mehmet Emin Citer, Mehmet Aden Arslan, and Semih Varol were detained in the operation.

Legal Proceedings and Health Checks

Legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects for the crimes of "Inciting the Public to Hatred and Hostility or Humiliation" and "Obscenity".

Furthermore, blood samples and tests were taken from the suspects within the scope of the investigation to detect the use of drugs or stimulant substances.
