18 Accounts Identified for Provocative Social Media Posts Following Incident in Manisa
The Ministry of the Interior has launched an investigation into individuals spreading provocation and disinformation on social media following the events in Manisa.
Minister of the Interior Mustafa Çiftçi announced that 18 social media accounts determined to have shared provocative and disinformation content following the incident in Manisa have been identified, and requests for access blocks have been filed for 47 URL addresses.
Provocative Posts Under Surveillance
Following the tragic incident in Manisa, the Ministry of the Interior launched a comprehensive effort against malicious posts aimed at creating unrest in society.
AI-Supported Cyber Monitoring
Artificial intelligence-supported open-source monitoring activities within the Department of Cyber Crimes are being maintained on a 24/7 basis.
Distribution of Identified Accounts
As a result of the investigations, a total of 18 accounts were identified, including 6 domestic accounts sharing offensive content, and 11 domestic and 1 foreign account sharing provocative and disinformation content.
Access Blocks and URL Requests
In coordination with the Manisa Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch, the removal of content and access blocks were requested for 47 URL addresses.
Investigation into Gathering Calls
Some posts containing calls to gather in the provinces of Ankara, Izmir, and Istanbul were also identified, and the relevant units and security authorities were informed.

Ministry officials stated that no attempts or disinformation aimed at disrupting public order by exploiting the nation's grief will ever be tolerated.
