Within the framework of an ex officio investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an access ban was imposed on 246 social media accounts and related links that were determined to have made speculative posts about capital market instruments capable of creating fear and panic among investors.

Ex Officio Investigation Launched

An ex officio investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Investigation for Informatics Crimes regarding content found on social media platforms.

Posts Aimed at Causing Investor Panic

As a result of the ongoing examinations, it was determined that speculative posts were made directly or indirectly concerning capital market instruments, which could cause fear and panic among investors.

Court Decision on Access Ban

An access ban was ordered by the Istanbul 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace regarding a total of 246 social media accounts and related link addresses that were identified.

Decision Forwarded to the Institution

The decision to block access was sent to the Presidency of Cybersecurity in order for it to be implemented without delay.
