Ahmet Şık Questions Minister of Justice Gürlek Regarding Fake ID and Troll Network
The Workers' Party of Turkey deputy claimed that a social media disinformation network was established within the ministry using fake IDs and foreign national phone lines.
TİP Istanbul Deputy Ahmet Şık raised nine questions, claiming that a troll network was established within the ministry using a fake ID and a phone line belonging to a Syrian national in order to improve the image of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek.
Social Media and Troll Network Allegation
Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Istanbul Deputy Ahmet Şık made striking allegations against Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek in statements he made on the social media platform X. Şık claimed that an organized troll network was put into operation within the ministry using a fake identity.
Fake ID and Line Details
In the statements, it was stated that the structure in question was operated through the fake identity "Mehmet Kap". It was stated that the system was organized via a phone line registered in the name of a Syrian national and the WhatsApp application.
Management and Method Change
It was claimed that the system was managed by Furkan Torlak, who transitioned from the Directorate of Communications to the Ministry of Justice. It was noted that the method previously carried out through Tamar Tanrıyar was replaced with the fake identity Mehmet Kap following an investigation that was initiated.
Targeting the Opposition
Among the allegations were that opposition municipalities were targeted through this established network, disinformation activities aimed at misleading the public were carried out, and confidential investigation documents were leaked via the relevant accounts.
Questions Addressed to Minister Gürlek
Following all these allegations, TİP deputy Ahmet Şık directed nine critical questions to be answered by Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, for disclosure to the public, and emphasized that they would follow the matter.
