Disinformation Investigation Opened Over Cafeteria Poisoning Allegations
A suspect who made unfounded social media posts claiming that children died from school cafeteria poisoning in Sultanbeyli, Istanbul, has been detained.
In Istanbul's Sultanbeyli district, an individual identified as making false social media posts claiming that children lost their lives due to food poisoning at a school cafeteria has been detained and legal proceedings have been initiated against them.

According to an official statement by the Istanbul Governorate, A.Y. was identified as having made posts on their social media account claiming that poisoning incidents occurred at a school cafeteria.
Unfounded Allegations
It was determined that the statements shared from A.Y.'s account included baseless claims that 3 out of 26 children poisoned by food from a school cafeteria in Istanbul had lost their lives.
Detention and Judicial Process
Emphasizing that the statements in question were entirely untrue and misleading to the public, the Governorate announced that the suspect had been detained.
Legal Investigation Initiated
An investigation was opened against A.Y. by the Press Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the framework of the disinformation law.
