Teams from the Gaziantep Police Department Traffic Inspection Branch launched an investigation following wedding convoy and drifting footage shared on social media. As a result of the work, severe administrative and judicial sanctions were applied to vehicle drivers who endangered traffic and blocked the road.

Social Media Footage Taken as Notice

Teams from the Gaziantep Police Department Traffic Inspection Branch continued their inspections against dangerous maneuvers in traffic. Wedding convoy and drifting footage published on social media was evaluated as a notice by police teams.

Severe Penalty for Luxury Vehicle Drifting

The driver of the luxury vehicle, determined to have drifted by blocking the road to traffic, was identified in a short time. While a fine of 186,000 TL was issued to the driver, the vehicle was banned from traffic for 30 days. The driver referred to the courthouse was released under judicial control conditions.

Fines for Vehicles Blocking the Road with Convoy

A total of 360,000 TL in fines, with 90,000 TL each, was applied to 4 vehicles determined to have blocked the road by forming a wedding convoy at the same spot. These vehicles were banned from traffic for 60 days.

Sanctions Applied to a Total of Ten Vehicles

A total of 20,000 TL in penalty procedures was carried out on the other 5 vehicles formed in the convoy pursuant to the relevant provisions of the law. As a result of the inspections, a fine amounting to 566,000 Turkish Liras was issued to a total of 10 vehicles.
