With the 13th Judicial Package to be addressed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) in its new legislative session, plans are underway to transition to a verification system that will enforce the requirement of real identities in social media use.
New Legislative Year and Priority Agenda
The Turkish Grand National Assembly will begin its new legislative year as required by the Constitution, during which tax and representation regulations covering international holiday websites and the Red Crescent will be discussed.
13th Judicial Package Preparations
Shaped as a result of efforts carried out by the Ministry of Justice and the AK Party group, the 13th Judicial Package ranks among the most crucial main agenda items of Parliament in the new term.
Identity Verification Step on Social Media
Within the scope of the prepared package, it is planned to establish a verification mechanism that will make it possible to use social media platforms with real identities.
Combating Crimes and e-Government Integration
While the envisioned identity verification process is thought to be carried out via e-Government, it is stated that this step will contribute to the prevention of crimes such as illegal betting, drugs, and prostitution.
Alimony and Divorce Regulations
Prepared in parallel with the decisions of the Constitutional Court, the new regulation addresses the issue of indefinite alimony and plans to introduce a lower limit with grading based on the duration of the marriage.
