With the Tax Procedure Law communiqué published by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, sales and advertisements made through social media platforms have begun to be reported to the Revenue Administration.

Scope of the New Regulation

Stating that with the advancement of technology, sales have increased on social media platforms rather than just websites, Lawyer Mustafa Erkulu expressed that this situation brings tax obligations along with it.

Obligation to Report to the Revenue Administration

With the communiqué regarding the Tax Procedure Law published by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, various legal obligations were imposed on social media platforms and the official tracking process was officially implemented.

Responsibility of Turkey Representatives

The obligation to report the tax taxpayer, the sales transaction made, and the parties of the sale in advertisements and sales made through the platforms to the Revenue Administration was put into practice.

Information Flow to Administrative Authorities

It was strongly emphasized that social media platforms, including their Turkey representatives, are obliged to report this information to the Turkish administrative authorities and the Revenue Administration.
