New Judicial Package to Come to Parliament's Agenda in October

Identity Verification on Social Media

In the package at the preparation stage, a system is being worked on that will enable social media users to open accounts with their real identities.

While the option of carrying out this verification via e-Government is being evaluated, the aim is to prevent crimes such as illegal betting and drugs.

Acceleration of Divorce Cases

Another prominent topic in the package is new models aimed at concluding long-running divorce cases in a shorter time.

It is stated that if it is concluded that the marriage cannot be sustained, the divorce decision can be separated from consequences such as custody and alimony.

Alimony Regulation and Models

Following the Constitutional Court's annulment decision regarding indefinite alimony, necessary legal regulations are also being included in the package.

It is being evaluated to grant judges a broad scope in determining the alimony duration according to the economic conditions of the parties and, in some cases, for it to continue indefinitely.
