Within the scope of preparations for the 13th Judicial Package, which is expected to be addressed in the new term work of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, various legal regulations regarding the alimony system, divorce cases, and social media use are being put on the table.
Preparation Process of the Judicial Package
The 13th Judicial Package proposal, prepared through the joint work of the Ministry of Justice and the AK Party group, is expected to be brought to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the new legislative period.
Indefinite Alimony and Gradation
One of the most prominent headings in the package is the practice of indefinite alimony. It is planned to make a regulation parallel to the relevant annulment justification of the Constitutional Court and to introduce gradation based on marriage durations.
Divorce Cases and Alimony Limit
Among the envisaged new regulations, it is also foreseen to determine a lower limit for alimony and to introduce certain procedural changes regarding the progression of divorce cases.
Identity Verification on Social Media
Within the scope of the package, emphasis is placed on transitioning to a new verification system in order to base account usage on social media platforms on real identities.
Targets in Combating Crimes
With the planned e-Government-based identity verification application, it is aimed to prevent crimes such as illegal betting, drug trafficking, and prostitution from being committed through social media channels.
