A hostility that began between two groups on social media in Istanbul's Demirkapı Neighborhood, Bağcılar, spilled onto the street and turned into a knife fight. Two people were injured in the incident, and one of the four suspects detained as part of the police investigation was arrested.

Social Media Dispute Spills Onto the Streets

Tensions that began between two groups on social media platforms in the Demirkapı Neighborhood of Istanbul's Bağcılar district quickly moved to the streets. A face-to-face meeting between the parties on the street swiftly escalated into a violent fight.

Two Youths Injured in Knife Fight

During the street fight, 18-year-old M.E.D. and 17-year-old B.D. sustained knife wounds in various parts of their bodies. Upon notification by citizens in the surrounding area, medical and police teams were rapidly dispatched to the scene.

Hospital Treatment of the Injured

After receiving initial intervention at the scene, the injured were taken to the hospital. It was reported that M.E.D. remains in critical condition and continues to receive treatment in the intensive care unit, while the other injured youth, B.D., is not considered to be in life-threatening condition.

Police Statement Regarding Enmity and Gangs

Following detailed investigations by security units, it was determined that the knife fight had no connection to gang activity or drug trafficking. The incident was found to stem entirely from an individual disagreement originating on social media.

Four Suspects Detained

As a result of the work carried out by security forces, a total of four suspects—identified as E.B.S., Y.E.B., A.K., and M.A.A.—were captured and detained in connection with the incident. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after completing procedures at the police station.

Judicial Process and Arrest Decision

Following their interrogation by the prosecutor's office, the suspects were brought before the court on charges of 'attempted intentional murder.' Among them, 15-year-old E.B.S., who was identified as the perpetrator of the knife attack, was arrested. The other three suspects were released under judicial control conditions.
