Within the scope of an investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, ten suspects were apprehended in an operation carried out across ten provinces against individuals alleged to have generated income by making inappropriate broadcasts on social media platforms.

Scope and Grounds of the Investigation

The investigation, coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, scrutinized certain live broadcasts conducted on social media platforms.

It was claimed that the suspects produced content contrary to the Turkish family structure and engaged in broadcasts on platforms involving fights, threats, insults, tension, and victimization.

Allegations of Generating Digital Revenue

Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, it was determined that the suspects aimed to generate digital revenue by acting together through such provocative broadcasts.

The revenues obtained and the cash flow during this process were subjected to detailed examination by security units.

Legal Procedures Implied

Legal proceedings were initiated against the detained suspects within the framework of the Turkish Penal Code for the crimes of "Inciting the Public to Hatred and Hostility or Degrading" and "Obscenity."

Additionally, tests were administered to the suspects in accordance with investigative procedures to detect the use of drugs or stimulants.

Simultaneous Raids Across Ten Provinces

The operations, planned with Istanbul as the base, were carried out simultaneously across a total of ten different provinces throughout Turkey.

The provinces where the operations were conducted included Muğla, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Kocaeli, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, and Elazığ.

Detained Individuals

As a result of the operations, a total of ten suspects were detained by security forces and taken to the police station.

Official authorities reported that those detained included names such as Mehmet Aden Arslan, Semih Varol, and Elif Akdemir.

Course of the Investigation

Joint efforts by the Public Order Branch Directorate and the Cyber Crimes Branch Directorate of the Istanbul Police Department are ongoing.
