During inspections carried out in Afyonkarahisar, nearly a ton of products sold via social media in violation of hygiene rules were collected.

In an operation conducted by security and agriculture teams in Afyonkarahisar targeting those selling food via social media, a total of 3.62 tons of sucuk, roasted meat (kavurma), and cheese produced under unhygienic conditions and past their expiration date were seized.

Teams from the Provincial Directorate of Security and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry monitored individuals and businesses selling food via social media in Afyonkarahisar.

Seizure of Meat and Dairy Products

As a result of the inspections carried out, approximately 1.62 tons of sucuk and roasted meat, along with 2 tons of tulum and white cheese, were taken into protective custody.

A total of approximately 3.62 tons of food products were seized and necessary official procedures were initiated for the destruction process.

Legal Proceedings and Continuity of Inspections

It was reported that relevant administrative procedures were applied against individuals and businesses determined to be operating in violation of regulations.

It was emphasized that inspections against such sales that endanger human health will be continued with determination.
