Tons of illegal food sold via social media seized

During inspections carried out in Afyonkarahisar, a large number of meat and cheese products that did not comply with hygiene rules and had passed their expiration dates were placed under safekeeping.

In joint operations carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Security and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, tons of sucuk, roasted meat (kavurma), and cheese sold via social media were seized, and legal proceedings were initiated against those responsible.

Joint operation organized

In Afyon, teams from the Provincial Directorate of Security and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry carried out a joint operation targeting individuals and businesses selling food via social media.

Thousands of kilos of products seized

As a result of the inspections, approximately 1.62 tons of sucuk and roasted meat (kavurma), along with about 2 tons of tulum and white cheese offered for sale via social media, were seized.

Health conditions not met

It was determined that the seized products were produced contrary to regulations, failed to meet necessary hygiene conditions, and had passed their expiration dates.

Legal proceedings initiated

Necessary judicial and administrative procedures were resolutely initiated under the relevant laws against individuals and businesses determined to be operating contrary to regulations.
