Social Support Efforts and Family Emphasis in Mardin

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş visited Mardin to evaluate social support and investment efforts carried out in the city, drawing attention to the importance of the family structure.

Visit to Mardin Governorship and Investments

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş visited Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun and received detailed information about the social support projects carried out in the city.

It was announced that a total of 40.1 billion liras in investments and social support has been provided across Mardin over the past twenty-four years.

Social Service Centers and Supports

It was reported that services are provided to citizens across Mardin through 17 Family Support Centers, 7 women's cooperatives, 10 CATOMs, and 5 Social Service Centers.

In 2026, 261 million liras in social and economic support was provided to 3,988 children, while 1.16 billion liras in resources were transferred for home care.

Developments in the Family and Youth Fund

It was stated that 302,972 young couples applied to the Family and Youth Fund across Turkey.

In Mardin, it was announced that 7,600 young people were supported materially and morally in establishing their homes within this scope.

Birth Grants and Payments

To date, a total of 25 billion liras in birth grant payments has been made for 1,278,581 children.

It was announced that the August birth grant payments have also been deposited into the bank accounts of eligible mothers.

Terror-Free Turkey and Strong Family Vision

Minister Göktaş stated that the lands have suffered greatly from terrorism and emphasized that historic steps are being taken with the Terror-Free Turkey process.

It was stated that a strong family structure is the greatest power against terrorism and that a strong Turkey will be built upon this foundation.
