2026-2027 Season Begins in the EuroLeague

The excitement of the 2026-2027 season in the EuroLeague, the premier club-level organization of European basketball, begins with matches played today, and for the first time in eight seasons, three Turkish teams are competing simultaneously.

Season Calendar and Match Format

Twenty teams will compete in the organization this season under a double-round robin format over thirty-eight weeks, and the regular season will conclude on April 16, 2027.

The play-in games will be held between April 20 and April 23, 2027, and the play-off series will take place between April 27 and May 12, 2027.

Three Turkish Teams on the Court

In the organization, which features Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahçe Tarfin, Turkey's number of representatives has risen to three with Beşiktaş being included in the league through a wildcard invitation.

Beşiktaş will host the Spanish representative Valencia Basket in its first match on Friday, September 25.

First Week Matches of Our Representatives

While Anadolu Efes opens the new season away against Barcelona today, Fenerbahçe Tarfin will host the Italian team Virtus Bologna on September 25.

In the EuroLeague, three Turkish teams—Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahçe, and Darüşşafaka—last took part together in the 2018-2019 season.

Countries and Representatives in the League

While twenty teams from ten countries will take part in the 2026-2027 season, Spain holds the position of the country with the most representatives with four teams.

Two teams each from France, Serbia, Italy, Greece, and Israel, and one team each from Germany, Lithuania, and the United Arab Emirates are competing in the organization.
