Amateur Sports Week Begins with a Ceremony in Mersin
Starting with an opening ceremony held at Cumhuriyet Square, the Amateur Sports Week events aim to spread sports to all ages across 81 provinces.
Led by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Amateur Sports Clubs Confederation, Amateur Sports Week began celebrations across 81 provinces with an official ceremony in Mersin.
Opening at Cumhuriyet Square
The Mersin leg of the Amateur Sports Week events, organized to encourage individuals of all ages to engage in regular physical activity and increase participation in sports, began with a wreath-laying ceremony held at Cumhuriyet Square.

The opening ceremony in Mersin was attended by Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Göksun Öz, Mersin Amateur Sports Clubs Federation President Mithat Ertaş, as well as prominent representatives of the sports community and officials.
Wreath Laying at the Monument
Within the scope of the ceremony, the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports wreath was jointly presented to the Atatürk Monument by Göksun Öz and Mithat Ertaş, followed by a moment of silence.
