Beşiktaş is reviving its referee consultancy system
The black-and-white club has reached an agreement with a new referee to review controversial decisions in matches and obtain expert opinions.
Beşiktaş has decided to restart the referee consultancy model previously implemented with Urs Meier, agreeing with a new referee to review incidents in matches.
Referee Consultancy System is Returning
The Beşiktaş management is reactivating the referee consultancy system it used in the past in order to review match decisions from an impartial perspective. Within this scope, an agreement has been reached with a new name.
Past Urs Meier Implementation
The club had previously taken a similar step ahead of the Galatasaray derby played in the 2024-25 season, bringing famous former referee Urs Meier to Istanbul to obtain an expert opinion.
TFF Decision and New Strategy
This path was chosen after a positive response was not received from the Turkish Football Federation regarding the foreign referee application requested during that season. The management will use the reports strategically in the new period.
Club Statements Will Be Guided
In line with the reports to be prepared by the new consultant referee, it is aimed to make official initiatives before the Turkish Football Federation and base the club's statements on these views.
