Bronze Medal for Özlem Becerek at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games

Competing in the women's discus throw event at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, national athlete Özlem Becerek managed to reach the podium with a mark of 60.18, while the 4x400 meter relay team also won a bronze medal.

Podium Success in the Discus Throw Final

Representing Turkey at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, Fenerbahçe national athlete Özlem Becerek drew attention with her consistent performance in the women's discus throw branch.

Making throws of 55.82, 54.62, 55.34, and 58.75 meters respectively throughout the competition, the national athlete finished the final in third place with her mark of 60.18 meters in her fifth attempt, becoming the owner of the bronze medal.

Bronze Medal from the 4x400 Meter Relay Team

Another team that won a medal in the athletics branch at the Games was the 4x400 meter relay team.

Consisting of Şilan Ayyıldız, Simay Özçiftçi, Elif Polat, and Sıla Koloğlu, the national team achieved a time of 3:40.99 in the relay race, taking third place and winning the bronze medal.

Stepping onto the track in the men's 200-meter final at the organization, national athlete Oğuz Uyar completed the race in fifth place with a time of 20.82 seconds.

In the 4x100 meter mixed relay race, the squad consisting of Kayhan Özer, Oğuz Uyar, Simay Özçiftçi, and Elif Polat came in fourth with a time of 42.17.
