Çanakkale Gran Fondo Bicycle Race Excitement Comes to an End
The courses of the Çanakkale Gran Fondo, featuring 924 athletes from 13 countries, have been completed, and the top-ranking athletes received their awards.
Hundreds of athletes from 13 countries pedaled across two different courses in the international cycling race connecting both sides of Çanakkale and the historical peninsula.
Race Start and Protocol Participation
A ceremony was held at Cumhuriyet Square for the organization that brought together cycling enthusiasts on both sides of Çanakkale. Numerous local protocol members and federation officials attended the event to accompany the athletes in their preparations.
Historical Course and Route Details
In the competition that started with a ferry crossing, athletes pedaled along Eceabat, Kilitbahir, and the Gallipoli Historical Peninsula. The course, accompanied by the view of the Dardanelles Strait, ended at the square after passing the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge.
Long Course Rankings
Athletes who ranked in the long course, where hundreds of participants competed fiercely, demonstrated a great performance. Successful athletes in the men's and women's categories took their places on the podium.
Short Course and Award Ceremony
Cyclists who pedaled in the short course also sweated to reach the finish line. All ranking athletes received their awards from the protocol members at the ceremony held after the race.
