In the crisis surrounding Central Refereeing Board President Ferhat Gündoğdu within the Turkish Football Federation, it has emerged that the federation is in a difficult position due to the TFF main statute and contract conditions.

Traditional Resignation Letters

An unwritten tradition since the establishment of the Turkish Football Federation has been to obtain blank resignation letters, to be used when necessary, from everyone serving on the committees.

Ahmet Şahin and Yunus Yıldırım, who left the current administration in the Central Refereeing Board, had announced that they left their posts even though it was not their own initiative.

Letter Not Obtained for Gündoğdu

While resignation letters were taken from eight board members of the Central Refereeing Board, it was learned that Ferhat Gündoğdu made no such commitment.

According to the forty-third article of the TFF main statute, since the board president and members cannot be dismissed unless they resign, the federation has been left helpless.

Contract and Compensation Detail

Ferhat Gündoğdu went down in records as the first board president in the history of the federation and the MHK to sign a three-year contract.

It was stated that the Central Refereeing Board President has the right to approximately fifteen million liras in compensation arising from this contract.

Investigation and Disciplinary Process

There is a long and procedural process for the Turkish Football Federation to open an investigation against Ferhat Gündoğdu.

Pursuant to the eighty-first article of the Football Disciplinary Instruction, allegations of disciplinary violations must first be referred to the Ethics Committee.
