FIBA Decision to Lift Restrictions for Russian and Belarusian Athletes
The International Basketball Federation announced that it has ended bans on individual participants, while postponing its decision on team competitions until December.
The International Basketball Federation has officially announced the lifting of restrictions on players, coaches, and officials who are citizens of Russia and Belarus.
Bans on Individual Participants Ended
According to the statement made by the International Basketball Federation, restrictions applied to Russian and Belarusian individuals have been lifted.
In accordance with this new decision, players, coaches, and officials from the countries in question will now be exempt from the relevant restrictions.
December Targeted for Team Competitions
It has not yet been clarified whether the national teams and club teams of Russia and Belarus will take part in international competitions.
It was reported that the final decision regarding the participation of teams in international tournaments will be made as a result of evaluations to be held in December.
