Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made important evaluations regarding the club's financial situation, sporting targets, ongoing projects, and public-interest legal processes during his speech at the yellow-red club's October consultative council meeting.
Historical Heritage and October Emphasis
Stating that October holds a special meaning for Galatasaray, Dursun Özbek emphasized that 121 years ago, Ali Sami Yen and his friends laid the foundation of a great dream at Galatasaray High School.
Sporting Targets and European Vision
Conveying that they have the target of a 27th championship ahead of them, Özbek stated that they want to be champions for the 5th consecutive time and aim to carry this stability and success in Turkey over to Europe.
Real Estate and Financial Projects
Stating that 170 million US Dollars of benefit was secured from the first phase of the Riva project, and that the second phase includes 750 villas, Özbek announced that 120 out of 180 apartments in the Mecidiyeköy residence have been sold and deliveries have begun.
Investments and Financial Expenditures
He announced that approximately 70 million Euros in real estate investment expenditures have been made for projects such as Kemerburgaz, Mecidiyeköy, Ada, and Kalamış over the past year and a half.
Banks Association and Facilities
Criticizing the Banks Association process, Özbek argued that investments cannot be made if they remain within this structure, noting that the Banks Association brings laziness and that they are in pursuit of growth.
Taç Spor Lawsuit and Logo Controversies
Confirming that they are in a legal dispute with the individuals from whom they took over Taç Spor, Özbek stated that there was a commitment made during the Ünal Aysal era. Regarding the logo issue, he stated that Sportif AŞ is the registered football name in the TFF, UEFA, and FIFA, and therefore the logo with stars must belong to Sportif AŞ.
