Gaziemir Spor, competing in the 3rd League 2nd Group, resolved its stadium crisis ahead of this weekend's match against Gemlik Sümerbey with the support of Altınordu's facilities in Torbalı.
Stadium Crisis and Difficulties Faced
Having used the Bornova Aziz Kocaoğlu Stadium because there was no stadium in Gaziemir compliant with TFF criteria, the green-and-white team experienced great uncertainty due to pitch maintenance. The club management stated that they faced the risk of forfeiting the match and requested urgent support from authorities.
Alternative Searches and Responses
The management received no results from applications made to numerous facilities, including the Izmir Atatürk Stadium and Manisa 19 Mayıs Stadium. The refusal of other clubs and the fact that the stadiums were under maintenance made the process even more difficult.
Support from Altınordu
Following the intense crisis, the Altınordu club responded positively to Gaziemir's call. The green-and-white team will play the Gemlik Sümerbey match at Altınordu's Torbalı Metin Oktay Campus.
