Surpassing his rivals during the qualifying sessions held at the Baku City Circuit, Russell earned the right to start the race from the front row.
Fastest Name in Qualifying
During the qualifying sessions held at the 6-kilometer Baku City Circuit in the capital Baku, George Russell managed to secure the top spot with a time of 1 minute 42.526 seconds.
Rivals' Lap Times
Following Mercedes' British driver Russell, Ferrari's Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc took second place with a gap of 0.837 seconds. McLaren's Australian driver Oscar Piastri finished third, 0.838 seconds behind the leader.
Antonelli's Unfortunate Crash
Kimi Antonelli, the Italian driver for Mercedes and the leader of the drivers' standings, crashed his car into the wall during the first session. Unable to complete the qualifying sessions due to this crash, Antonelli finished the session in 16th place.
