An investigation has been launched after a hidden camera was found in the shower area of a gym in Karşıyaka, İzmir, while the business owner denied the allegations.
A judicial and administrative investigation was launched after a hidden camera was detected in the shower section of a weight loss center operating in the Karşıyaka district of İzmir.
Discovery of the Incident and Complaint
In the incident that occurred at the gym named SlimShape in İzmir's Karşıyaka district, a female customer named H.C., who used the facility, noticed a hidden camera lens in the shower section.
Recording the situation with her mobile phone, the female member took the recording, went to the police department, and filed an official complaint about the matter.
Initial Reaction of the Business Owner
Business owner Rüya Doğan Arsalı stated that she was not at the facility at the time of the incident and learned about the situation from a customer who left the premises quickly with suspicious movements.
Arsalı stated that they immediately called the police to the facility against the possibility of any negativity and did not even allow their own employees to enter.
Police Examination and Detection of the Lens
It was stated that no findings were encountered during the initial check of the teams arriving at the scene, after which the records at the police station were examined and a re-investigation was requested.
In the detailed second search conducted at the branch together with security personnel, it became clear that a lens was found in the shower section.
Brand Assassination and Rival Company Allegation
Operator Rüya Doğan Arsalı claimed that the device was subsequently placed in the facility from the outside and that this was a clear brand assassination.
Arsalı stated that they suspect a rival company that had previously conducted smear campaigns and that they will follow up on the matter.

It was reported that all camera records inside the branch except for the locker room were delivered to the relevant authorities and criminal complaints were filed with the judicial authorities.
