Diesel fuel price per liter in Belgium reaches record level with new ceiling regulation
With the new ceiling price tariff applied across the country, the price per liter of diesel has seen a historic peak.
Within the scope of the new ceiling price application announced by the Belgian Ministry of Economy, the price per liter of diesel fuel climbed to 2.501 euros, breaking an all-time record.
New Ceiling Prices in Belgium
The Belgian Ministry of Economy announced to the public the new maximum ceiling prices that will apply to various fuel types in the country. According to the updated tariff, gas stations absolutely cannot exceed these determined ceiling prices.
Historic Record in Diesel Fuel
The price per liter of Diesel B7 rose by 3.3 cents to 2.501 euros. With this increase, the diesel price left behind its previous record level of 2.489 euros recorded on April 9.
Changes in Other Fuel Types
The maximum price per liter of B10 diesel, which contains up to 10 percent biodiesel, also rose by 3.4 cents to 2.493 euros. Meanwhile, the price per liter of diesel fuel used for heating varied depending on the order quantity.
Effects on Global Oil Markets
Transportation problems in the Middle East and attacks on pipelines pushed the barrel price of Brent crude above 100 dollars. Diesel exports from the region halved in the March-August period.
