An investigation was launched after a female member taking a shower at a gym in Karşıyaka noticed a hidden camera lens and filed a complaint. The business owner claimed that the device was placed there afterward and that they were facing a brand assassination.
How the Incident Came to Light
A female member named H.C., who used the shower area of the SlimShape gym operating in Karşıyaka, noticed that there was a hidden camera lens in the area and recorded the situation with her mobile phone. While the customer went to the police station with the footage and filed a complaint, an investigation into the incident was swiftly launched.
The Business Owner's Initial Reaction
Rüya Doğan Arsalı, who has been serving as the operator for about 10 months, stated that she was not at the facility when the incident took place. She expressed that as soon as they received news of a suspicious situation, they called the police to the facility and did not even allow their own employees inside throughout the process.
Police Examination and Detection of the Lens
No findings were encountered during the initial examination by law enforcement officers. Thereupon, Arsalı applied to the police station and submitted the records, requesting that the area be checked again, and the detailed examination revealed that there was indeed a lens.
Allegation of Brand Assassination
Arguing that a rival company might be behind the incident, Rüya Doğan Arsalı claimed that the camera was placed in the facility afterward. She stated that they had faced similar smear campaigns before and that this was a clear sector assassination.
Camera Records Handed Over
Emphasizing that they attach great importance to customer privacy, the business owner announced that they delivered all branch-in camera records, except for the locker room, to the relevant authorities. She noted that the members also supported them.
Legal Process Initiated
Stating that they are the victimized party, Arsalı announced that all complaints have been initiated before the police and judicial authorities for the truth to come to light. It was reported that the company's lawyer will follow up on the legal process until the end.
