Unexpected Obstacle in Medical Checks
The transfer process of Jayden Oosterwolde, who went to Italy to sign a contract with Roma, was halted due to medical reports. Examinations by the Italian club's medical team revealed that the Dutch footballer's condition was more serious than expected.
Detailed checks revealed that the problem experienced by the player was not a simple hamstring injury. It was stated that Oosterwolde might need surgery and could be sidelined for approximately three months.
Expert Opinions Confirmed Suspicions
At the request of the Roma management, the player's medical files were examined by Swiss doctor Professor Georg Ahlbaumer and Finnish tendon specialist Lasse Lampainen. The evaluations of both experts supported the suspicions of the Roma medical team.
Offer Revision and Fenerbahçe's Decision
Roma Sporting Director D’Amico had initially agreed with Fenerbahçe on a loan fee of approximately 2 million euros and a mandatory purchase option subject to certain conditions. However, following the medical reports, the Italian club changed its offer.
Roma requested to waive the loan fee and increase the number of matches required for the purchase option to at least 25. Upon Fenerbahçe's rejection of this new offer, transfer negotiations were terminated, and Oosterwolde returned to the Yellow-Navy Blue club.
