Lifeguarding Turkey Championship Concluded at Atakum Beach
The Lifeguarding Turkey Championship held at Atakum Beach has concluded. Çanakkale Underwater Sports Club became the champion in the men's category, while the women's trophy was won by the İlkiz Lifeguarding Center.
Organized by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation in Samsun, the Lifeguarding Turkey Championship was completed despite challenging weather conditions. A total of 64 athletes competed fiercely for medals in the competitions.
Held at Atakum Beach
The organization, organized by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation, took place at Atakum Beach. A total of 64 athletes, including 44 men and 20 women, participated in the competitions.
In the championship, which was held according to international competition standards for the first time in many years, athletes competed in the sea and on the beach for two days.
Competed Under Tough Conditions
Athletes in the women's and men's categories sweated it out in open water swimming, rescue tube rescue, flag snatch, 90-meter and 1,000-meter beach run disciplines.
The races, which continued despite heavy rain and strong winds, witnessed the high performance of the athletes under difficult weather conditions.
Champions and Trophies
The most successful team of the Men's Turkey Championship was Çanakkale Underwater Sports Club. In the Women's Federation Cup, İlkiz Lifeguarding Center Sports Club took the top spot.
During the national team selection trials held within the scope of the organization, the performances exhibited by the athletes were evaluated in detail.
Prominent Athletes
Elif Bay, competing for the İlkiz Lifeguarding Center Sports Club, achieved first place in three of the five disciplines, becoming the female athlete who won the most medals.
In the men's category, Bora Duman from the same club reached the Turkey championship in two of the five disciplines he competed in.
Award Ceremony Held
The closing and award ceremony of the championship was held at the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Art Center, and medals were presented to those who ranked high.
Provincial directorate officials, federation representatives, and the provincial representative attended the ceremony, sharing the joy of the athletes.
