National Boxer Emrah Yaşar Advances to the Final at the European Championships in Bulgaria
National athlete Emrah Yaşar, who grew up in the Suruç district of Şanlıurfa and achieved significant success in two different branches, has added a new link to his career.
Stepping into the ring at the 2026 European Boxing Championships organized in Bulgaria, national boxer Emrah Yaşar successfully advanced to the final as a result of his impressive matches.
The Beginning of His Career
National athlete Emrah Yaşar grew up in the Suruç district of Şanlıurfa and, before taking up sports, helped his family with livestock work and worked as a shepherd for a period.
Meeting kickboxing in 2018 at the sports high school he attended, he made a fast start to his training under the guidance of Murat Akaltun and Serhat Akagündüz.
Kickboxing Successes
Achieving first places in Turkey championships shortly after starting sports, Yaşar also won medals in the international arena.
Becoming the European Junior Champion in Montenegro in 2021, the athlete reached the world championship title at the World Kickboxing Championships held in Portugal in 2023.
Boxing Career and Fenerbahçe
After his successes in kickboxing, the national athlete also competed in amateur boxing, and following his championship in 2022, he transferred to Fenerbahçe.
He managed to make a name for himself by winning medals one after another in international boxing organizations.
International Medals
He won the gold medal by defeating his British opponent Isaac Okoh at the European U22 Boxing Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
He also represented our country and took a place on the podium in organizations held in different countries such as Hungary and Brazil.
