The Küçüksu Halet Çambel Sports Complex, brought to life in Üsküdar by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality with an investment of 1 billion lira, has officially opened. The importance of investments made in youth was emphasized during the ceremony.
New Sports Complex in Üsküdar
The opening ceremony of the Küçüksu Halet Çambel Sports Complex, built by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in Üsküdar with an investment of 1 billion lira, took place. Located at the intersection of the Küçüksu, Kandilli, and Kuleli neighborhoods, the facility holds the distinction of being the municipality's 78th sports facility citywide.
Equipment and Goals of the Facility
The complex includes a semi-olympic swimming pool, fitness and studio halls, an indoor sports hall, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and a 3-story underground parking lot. The facility aims to provide sports services for approximately 20,000 people with 250,000 sessions annually.
Statements at the Opening Ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan criticized the morning operation targeting Union of Turkish Municipalities and Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer, calling for law and justice to be applied equally to everyone. Aslan drew attention to the importance of investments made in the youth of the Republic.
Discounts and Conveniences
It was announced that a 50 percent discount would be provided to students at sports facilities, while the fee to use the facilities would be 1 TL for Mother Card (Anne Kart) holders, as well as the elderly, retirees, and citizens without social security during certain hours.
