The Northern Cyprus Table Tennis Federation was admitted as an observer member to the union following a vote held at the Balkan Table Tennis Union Congress. Thanks to this decision, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has gained the opportunity to actively participate at an institutional level in an international sports organization for the first time.
