Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak announced that they aim to increase the total number of licensed athletes across Istanbul to 1.5 million during a ceremony held in Sultanbeyli.

Opening and Groundbreaking Ceremony

New sports facilities were put into service in Sultanbeyli with the participation of Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, while the foundations of several projects were also laid. Additionally, the launch of the Sultanbeyli Belediyespor Men's Volleyball Team took place during the program.

Target for Licensed Athletes

It was stated that efforts are ongoing to increase the number of licensed athletes, which currently stands at around 840,000, with the goal set at 1.5 million. Importance is placed on increasing the number of athletes in schools and school sports clubs.

Statements by Local Officials

Speaking at the ceremony, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül emphasized the importance of having small-scale facilities within walking distance in every neighborhood. Sultanbeyli Mayor Ali Tombaş stated that investments in youth and sports will continue.
