Sports Schools Workshop and Child Protection Training from Beşiktaş
At the two-day event held in Istanbul, the creation of safe environments in sports schools and child protection policies were discussed.
Organized by Beşiktaş JK Amateur Branches and Sports Schools in Istanbul, the Sports Schools Workshop and Child Protection Program Training was held with the participation of sports school representatives and coaches.
Scope of the Workshop and Opening Speeches
The two-day program, held in Istanbul on September 11-12, aimed to improve cooperation among sports schools and provide children with a safe sports environment.
At the opening of the program, Beşiktaş General Secretary Uğur Fora, Membership and Registry Board Chairman Sefa Bağcı, Football Sports Schools Officer Erkan Avseren, and Child Protection Coordinator Dr. Sabri Can Metin each delivered speeches.
Evaluations Under 10 Different Headings
On the first day of the workshop, participants shared their views under 10 separate headings, including corporate communication, contract processes, financial sustainability, athlete development, and coach training.
During the meeting, where camp and tournament organizations, equipment supply, auditing, promotion, and institutional support topics were also evaluated, needs reported by the sports schools were recorded.
Child Protection Policies and Expert Trainings
On the second day of the program, comprehensive training sessions and presentations were delivered to the participants by experts in their fields on various subjects.
While Fırat Çağlar Erdem addressed physical inactivity awareness, Dr. Sabri Can Metin conveyed the concept and fundamental principles of child protection in sports to the participants.
Psychologist Yiğit Yekta Kukul, on the other hand, provided detailed information about the Beşiktaş JK child protection policy and explained the approaches in implementation.
