Three Gold Medals from Turkish Athletes at the European Para Swimming Championships
On the second day of the championships held in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, national athletes Sevilay Öztürk, Defne Kurt, and Turgut Aslan Yaraman finished first.
On the second day of the 2026 European Para Swimming Championships, Turkey achieved major success in the pool, winning three gold and one silver medal.

In the women's 50-meter backstroke S5 category, Sevilay Öztürk won the gold medal with her performance in the final, while Esra Yüce, competing in the same category, claimed the silver medal.
Defne Kurt's Second Championship
Defne Kurt managed to become the European champion in the women's 200-meter individual medley SM10 category with a time of 2:27.30.
Gold Medal from Turgut Aslan Yaraman
The final gold medal of the day was won by Turgut Aslan Yaraman in the men's 100-meter backstroke S8 category with a time of 1:04.77.
