Turkey collects medals in disability sports branches in international organizations
National athletes achieved outstanding successes in European championships and cups, returning to the country with numerous medals.
While Turkey has been making a name for itself with its international successes in disability sports branches, our athletes won numerous medals in the recently held European championships and cups.
Great Success at the Swimming Championship
At the European Para Swimming Championship, national athlete Defne Kurt achieved a major success by winning 5 gold medals single-handedly.
The National Team managed to complete the organization with a total of 16 medals, including 9 gold and 7 silver, in the general ranking.
Para Cycling Races in Poland
Excitement was high at the European Para Cycling Cup Road Races held in the city of Bydgoszcz, Poland, on the same dates.
Fuat Uğur won a silver medal in the C3 category, while the duo of Tuana Filiz and Ayça Erdoğan became the owners of the bronze medal.
General Medal Distribution and Branches
Turkey closed the games in Poland with a total of 53 medals won in para athletics, para swimming, and para table tennis branches.
These medals were recorded as 13 gold, 13 silver, and 27 bronze medals.
Changes in Federation Structure
The transition of disabled athletes out from under a single federation umbrella into 30 of the 63 federations increased branch diversity.
In line with this decision made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, training and facility problems began to be overcome more easily.
