Turkish Football Federation Refers Club Executives to PFDK in Betting Investigation
The Turkish Football Federation has referred club executives found to have placed bets over the last five years to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board in accordance with the Football Disciplinary Instruction.
The Turkish Football Federation announced that individuals who served as administrators in the Süper Lig and 1st League within the last five years and were determined to have placed bets have been referred to the PFDK with precautionary measures as of September 30, 2026, pursuant to Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction.
Disciplinary Referral Decision from TFF
In a statement published on its official website, the Turkish Football Federation announced that executives who served in the leagues and were found to have placed bets have been referred to the disciplinary board.
Within the scope of this decision, it was reported that the relevant individuals were referred to the PFDK with precautionary measures as of September 30, 2026, pursuant to Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction.
Names from the Big Four Clubs on the List
It was determined that names from the four major clubs were also included in the referral actions carried out by the federation, and this situation caused widespread repercussions in the public sphere.
According to the disclosed information, 10 people from Beşiktaş, 3 from Fenerbahçe, 5 from Galatasaray, and 13 from Trabzonspor were among the individuals referred to the disciplinary board.
Statement from Trabzonspor President Doğan
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan, who was referred to the PFDK on the grounds of placing bets, connected to A Spor broadcasts to evaluate the issue.
Ertuğrul Doğan stated that there was no intentional situation, that betting companies were club sponsors in the past, and that the accounts in question had been closed previously.
Defenses Will Be Submitted
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan stated that necessary legal defenses will be submitted to the federation in the process following the referral decision and that they will follow up on the matter.
