Turkish Football Federation Refers Club Executives Who Placed Bets to PFDK
The TFF referred 448 club executives found to have placed bets over the last five years to disciplinary action, while MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu and other suspects detained in the illegal betting investigation were sent to the courthouse.
The Turkish Football Federation has referred 448 club executives, who were determined to have placed bets, to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) with precautionary measures pursuant to Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction. In a separate illegal betting and sports crimes investigation conducted during the same process, MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu and other detained suspects were referred to the courthouse.
Referral of Executives to PFDK
The Turkish Football Federation announced that it has officially initiated disciplinary proceedings regarding sports club presidents and executives who have placed bets.
A total of 448 executives who served in administrative roles in Süper Lig and TFF 1st League clubs within the past five years have been forwarded to the disciplinary board.
Disciplinary Instruction and Date Detail
The executives identified as having placed bets were referred to the PFDK with precautionary measures in accordance with Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction.
In the official announcement made by the federation, it was stated that this decision is effective as of September 30, 2026, and that precautionary referrals have been made.
Status of Major Clubs
Among the names referred to the PFDK are executives from Turkey's top four major clubs: Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Trabzonspor.
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan made a statement regarding the matter, expressing that there was no malicious intent and that the executives were not informed about this issue.
Illegal Betting Investigation
A separate investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau for Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes Investigation is also continuing at full speed.
Within this scope, suspects whose procedures at the police department were completed have been referred to judicial authorities.
Referral of MHK President and Suspects to Courthouse
MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu, along with a total of seven suspects detained within the framework of the investigation, were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan following their procedures at the police station.
Other names referred to the courthouse include TFF Active Referees Association President Ferdi Karadoruk, former MHK Deputy President Ahmet Şahin, and former MHK Member Yunus Yıldırım.
Other Names and Audio Records in the Investigation
Among the other individuals referred to the courthouse are TFF Training and 4th Region Responsible Sebahattin Şahin, as well as Alican Sağlar and Emre Kosif.
Within the scope of the ongoing investigation file, audio recordings of conversations between MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu and FIFA assistant referee Kerem Ersoy have also emerged.
