Found Motionless in the Room
The incident took place in the evening hours on Sunday, September 13, at the Atıcılar Sports Complex. When his students could not reach 61-year-old wrestling coach Zeki Şahin for a while, they suspected something was wrong and entered his room.
Teams Dispatched
The situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center for Şahin, who was found motionless in the room by his students. Upon the notice, health and police teams were dispatched to the sports complex.
Determined to Have Lost His Life
In the initial check made by the health teams arriving at the scene, it was determined that Zeki Şahin had lost his life. Following Şahin's sudden and suspicious death, law enforcement forces initiated an examination.
Sports Community Immersed in Mourning
It was learned that Zeki Şahin, who devoted years to the sport of wrestling, trained numerous successful athletes. It was stated that national athlete Zeki Akgül was among the names trained by Şahin. Şahin's passing caused great sadness among his students and the sports community.
