Access Bans in the Fund Crisis
YENİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir made striking statements during a press conference held in Parliament. Emir stated that access bans were imposed on hundreds of social media accounts and certain newspapers in order to prevent the exposure of those who enriched themselves during the fund crisis and the money smuggled abroad.
Emir emphasized that the accounts and media outlets in question were not found guilty, and stated that these outlets only exposed those who enriched themselves in the fund crisis, their connections in politics, and the money sent abroad.
Ankara Train Station Massacre and Responsible Parties
In his speech, Murat Emir also gave extensive coverage to the October 10 Ankara Train Station Massacre case. Drawing attention to the responsibilities of public officials in the process leading up to the massacre, Emir stated that those with negligence in the incident were not put on trial.
Fuel Price Hikes and Cost of Living
Touching upon economic developments, Emir warned about fuel price hikes. He noted that if a new regulation is not made on October 1, diesel prices will increase, which will reflect as price hikes on everything from A to Z.
MASAK and Central Bank Claims
Arguing that the country is experiencing a severe fund crisis and the government is not taking steps to resolve this crisis, Emir shared his criticisms regarding the scope and duration of MASAK investigations.
Drawing attention to the arrest of Central Bank Deputy Governor Erkan Kilimci and his resignation from Tera Yatırım Holding, Murat Emir emphasized that the question marks regarding this entire process must be resolved as soon as possible.
Parliamentary Research Committee Demand
Underlining the necessity to find a solution to the fund crisis at the end of the press conference, Emir called on the Parliament to urgently convene and establish a research committee in order for the issue to be clarified in all its aspects.
