Joint Steps in Strategic Technologies

Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Le Xuan Dinh, met with Saito Hiroaki from the Japanese House of Representatives Committee and his delegation. During the meeting, joint efforts in the semiconductor, artificial intelligence, and strategic technology sectors were discussed.

NEXUS Program and AI Support

The NEXUS program, which aims for joint research in the semiconductor field, is targeted to be expanded in 2026 and 2027. The Vietnamese side requested support from Japan regarding independent artificial intelligence and large-scale Vietnamese language models.

Energy Infrastructure and Future Goals

Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh proposed three main areas of cooperation: strengthening the NEXUS program, technology innovation models, and expert training. Additionally, nuclear energy and small modular reactors were discussed to meet the energy needs of the high-tech industry.
